I’m a bit late on the posting on all my Christmassy things, I’m so behind!
Every year we go out for Christmas drinks with friends, and finding just the right outfit is a task in itself at times. I managed to find all out my outfit (bar the bag) in New Look. We were going out for a couple of drinks, then off for a nice Chinese, so I wanted my look to be smart, but not overdressed, and also wanted to wear something I’d feel comfortable in after eating my body weight in Chinese food!
Here’s what I purchased/ my outfit for the evening:
The Perfect Parisian Playsuit:
I love playsuits, they are so flattering for my shape, but without making me feel too exposed when trying to sit down, I could never wear a dress this short! I picked this because the high neckline and shape just reminded me of the famous dress worn in Breakfast at Tiffanys by Audrey Hepburn. The material is woven and was really flattering warm but did not cling to any areas I’m unhappy with.
Oh, and my favourite thing about it? It’s detachable necklace! It instantly adds a bit of bling, perfectly framed between my collar bones! The necklace is made out of individual pink diamontes to look like three flowers, but if I want to wear a specific necklace with it, I can unclip the necklace and nothing can be seen.
I teamed it up with some black 40 denier tights, (so not too thick but also won’t get torn throughout the evening) and high heeled ankle boots.
The Beautiful Burgandy Blazer:
You’ve probably seen from previous posts that I love Burgandy, it seems to really suit my skin tone. This blazer adds a splash of colour to a black outfit, and also really smartens up outfits too, but it also works well with jeans and a t shirt. It’s lined so it kept me warm, as I hate ruining an outfit by taking a coat with me, and the best part was it was 50% off! Down to just £12.50! Santa was obviously looking out for me!
My Super Furry Stole:
Look at how furry this is! It’s so warm, I wish I’d had this at the weekend I was wondering around London in 0 degree temperatures!
I apolgise for my Ted bag in the photo, I was planning on taking it out but then decided to use this little silver bag from Miss Selfridge which has a long detachable chain if you wanted to use it as a clutch bag. I thought it would work well with the bling on the playsuit!
It was a great night, we ate so much food we were painfully full, drank much prosecco and had a really good laugh!
Did you go out for a Christmas party? If so, what did you wear and where did you go?
