Cath Kidston. The woman – inspirational. The style – Pretty. Girly. Modern Vintage.
20 years on, her pretty floral designs have blossomed onto bags, wallpaper, phone cases, everything, and we love them. From the original Rose Bouquet design to Polkadots, Mushrooms to Mini Clocks there’s something to catch everybody’s eye.
I personally love the floral patterns the most. They’re dainty and pretty, and the pink flowers against the pale blue background really stands out. I don’t live too far from the Cath Kidston Factory shop in St Neots, where in store I’ve met people from far and wide all to grab themselves a bargain. Here, you can find items cheaper than retail price and with constantly changing stock you can end up with quite a collection!
So yesterday on a pleasantly sunny Saturday, and managed to grab some wonderful loot!
Here’s my bag, admire if you will:
This was £30. It’s made from Oil cloth which is a strange material; it’s wipe clean and pretty tough, which means it’s built to last and seeing as I’ve bought this for my holiday in Orlando later this year, is just what I need. A lot of Cath Kidston products come made from Oil cloth, which is practical for those with children, or just those who like myself are a tad clumsy, because it is water resistant and wipe clean.
It’s got an adjustable material strap, magnetic buckle clasp, inside zip pocket and smaller outside pocket under the flap, so for example my phone could be kept separate and it’s perfectly safe just need to be mindful when opening the bag, a zip or magnet on this bit would have been a nice addition for that extra safety. Either way I am very happy with my purchase. They had about 8 different designs of bags, in about 8 different styles, so if you like bags, this place will leave you spoilt for choice.
My make up bag: a simple, clean white bag with spray of pink and blue flowers design, this looks so delicate. Again in the oil cloth material, which is good if I spill any make up on this! I bought this for £9 and then a smaller one for my mum in the same pattern for £6!
Passport holder: Now passports aren’t very exciting, they’re Maroon and gold, so drab. So now my passport will be decorated in….Cherries! How delightful! Thanks Cath Kidston; for just £5 too!
Lastly, which is not fashion as such but it is fashionable.. mugs! There’s just something that happens to you when you become a home-owner, instantly you find buying lovely things for your home exciting! Imagine me, writing this blog post, sipping tea (1 sugar, strong) from one of these wonderful mugs, just £3.
As you can imagine, I’m excited, for my purchases did not break the bank and have made my already sunny Saturday a little bit brighter.
