A/W 2014 Essentials

Again, a post I wanted to schedule long before now! I’m sorry I haven’t posted for a little while, I’ve been fighting some horrific flu like virus which everyone I seem to know has at the moment! I recovered just in time to see Lady gaga live – thank god but then it’s knocked me back a tad today.

Despite the cold weather being too much for my immune system to cope with, I still love Autumn; and along with the colours of the leaves changing, the ones in my wardrobe do too! This year everything I’ve been buying seems to be in Grey, Burgundy and Plum.

Here’s my essentials for this A/W:

The Tweed Blazer – This blazer is heavy, lined complete with elbow patches, which I wear on days where it isn’t quite cold enough for a coat, with either a dress and tights or jeans and a top, it seems to work with most casual outfits!

The  Faux Fur Headband -The only time I condone fakery is when it’s fur! One of my newer purchases, which I’ve bought for when it starts to get colder, to keep my head snug. It’s so soft and fluffy!

Primark Snoods and Scarfs: For just £3 you can justify buying them in every colour to go with every outfit! I have one in Black, Royal Blue, a light Grey/Taupe kind of colour and Plum, and then just last night picked up a tartan scarf for just £4! A definite essential as Tartan is big this Autumn.

High heeled lace up boots: I know I said in my 5 Things I love about Autumn post that one of my favourite things is my Ugg boots, but I also love my laced up ankle boots from New Look for shopping trips in London! They’re better suited for the rain as the leather makes them tough and durable, but they are also extremely comfy and the chunky 3 inch block heel gives me a little, but not too much height.

A Cute Jumper: I do love a snug jumper, I picked up this particular one from Primark this week because not only is it super soft, it’s collar makes it really cute and a little bit more formal!

The Burgundy dress: I bought this just yesterday from New Look, I absolutely love the colours of it – burgundy with little splashes of gentle blues and white. It has a really interesting cut out at the back which frames my tattoo and the material, really silky feeling again which I plan to wear in the day with thick knitted tights and flat calf length boots but I could just as easily wear it with some thinner tights, chunky jewelry, heels for a meal out in the evening.
