It’s tough to be a Newbie; like the first day of school or a new job, it’s daunting. When I first started blogging, I just wanted to talk about fashion and beauty because I love them, but at the same time I was worried how I’d come across. Would I be fashionable enough? Would I be likeable?
If you’ve read about me, you’d see I often refer to myself as being fairly average and have even been called a wallflower! Some people who know me are often surprised by my reserved nature, as they expect me to be a bit more confident and outgoing. I’ve always been very much in my shell; but since I had a double jaw operation to correct my under bite 3 years ago, I’ve started to feel myself slowly coming out a little more.
Last night was the first time I felt myself really come out of my shell; Benefit UK had put on a competition to dare them things. I watched what other people commented first, a few asked for products, which I thought they’d never go for, that it’s being cheeky! I’m not the kind of person that puts myself out there, but after seeing fellow bloggers post it, I went for it too! I didn’t win, but at least I tried, others did though which made me realise it’s good to just go for it sometimes. The Pre-Blog Becca would have never done such a thing!
I’ve received a really warm welcome on Twitter and Bloglovin, social media platforms I’m new to. From people befriending me to retweeting posts, or marking comments as “favourites”(Twitter’s way of liking a post I guess) but all of these actions which can take just seconds sure have made this Blogger feel accepted. I’ve also in turn met lots of friendly faces, with lots of amazing blogs of their own for me to follow and enjoy, people who I may never have found otherwise!
So this is a post dedicated to all the fellow bloggers, thank you for your kind words, warm welcomes and friendly nature. Thank you for making me feel like I belong. If I’d known the blogging community was one as nice as this, I’d have started blogging sooner! I really am looking forward to meeting even more people, finding more exciting blogs, products and brands, and continuing to share my shopping habits!
Lots of love,
